Lucerne Festival ranks as one of the premier classical music festivals in the world. Based in Lucerne, Switzerland, it has a 5 week Summer season, a week long Piano Festival in November, and a 9 day pre-Easter Festival. It has two resident ensembles. The first is the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, co-founded by the late Claudio Abbado and ceo Michael Haefliger with Riccardo Chailly appointed as its new Music Director in 2016. The second ensemble, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra was founded by Pierre Boulez and in 2016, Wolfgang Rihm became its new Artistic Director.

Longborough is a British country house opera company which was founded in 1991 by Martin and Lizzie Graham. Its 500 seater theatre is set in the most beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Each summer, it presents a 2 month season of 4 different operas. It has received huge critical acclaim for its Wagner productions and in 2013 was the only UK opera house to mount a fully staged Ring cycle during the Wagner bi-centenary year.

Alma Deutscher is a 13 year old English composer, pianist and violinist. Profoundly gifted, she has composed both piano and violin doncertos and an opera, Cinderella, premiered in Vienna in 2016 and performed again in San Jose in 2017. A dvd of this performance is release by Sony in October 2018. In 2017 BBC 1 broadcast a one hour programme on Alma and in 2018 she made debut perfomances at the Aix-en Provence and Lucerne Festivals.

Jonathan Nott is Music Director of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Prior to this he was Music Director of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra with whom he mad a number of acclaimed recordings, including a complete cycle of the Mahler symphonies.
To raise the profile of Nott and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande for its centenary celebrations in November 2018.
Considered one of the most outstanding musicians of our time, Mariss Jansons has been Chief Conductor of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2003. Since 1995 he has appeared annually at the Salzburg Festival.
